Important changes to service during the coronavirus pandemic
Updated: Nov 18, 2020
You will be aware that the Ministry of Health have directed GP practices to perform “virtual” consultations for the vast majority of patients at the present time, meaning by phone or video consultation. For now, patients can only come into the practice by invitation following a phone consultation. This means we are still able to examine you if needed but the time spent face to face with a doctor will be brief and will follow a full history of your concern taken prior to arrival at the medical centre. This is to reduce the risk of spead of the virus between doctor and patient. We are still seeing patients when required and a lot can also be managed by phone or video so please don't delay in speaking to a doctor if you are worried about something.
Only urgent nurse appointments will be carried out. Childhood and Flu immunisations are a priority area and will continue under a strict process.
If you think you have symptoms of Covid-19 namely fever, cough or sore throat please call Healthline in the first instance (0800 358 5453). Community Based Assessment Centres (CBACs) are now set up for testing in order to reduce community spread.
Repeat prescriptions can be arranged as usual. Please specify the pharmacy you would like to use and we will fax your prescription there at no extra charge.
